NaNoWriMo – 9 – Write It Down, Make It Happen

Write It Down Make It HappenKnowing what you want is a strong key to succeeding. If you want to write a novel and you want it to be 50,000 or more words long and you know it, that is the beginning. The next step is writing it down…state out loud, send an email, post it on FaceBook. Put it out in the world. Then do it!

I first discovered this concept a few years ago when I read Henriette Klauser’s book Write It Down, Make It Happen.  The book is filled with examples of how this concept works as well as the science involved with why it works. Following is an excerpt from the book.

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT, YOU CAN HAVE IT.
All our years of brain research, all our current knowledge about the corpus collosum, the reticular activating system, and the workings of the human mind, and we are still left with an ‘aw shucks,’ ‘golly gee.’ sense of wonder that ‘it works.’
Write It Down, Make It Happen keeps that sense of wonder and is grounded in the same now-scientific truth — that setting your intent, focusing on the outcome, being clear about what you want in life can make your dreams come true.
There is another key element that comes into play, …The first step in all of them is to write down your goal.
